Member Driven
We need you to actively participate in growing our member-driven community! As a host, if you’re holding a ticketed event, we ask that all participants join as members for the day with a $5 drop-in fee or by signing up for a monthly membership. For free events, we recommend offering this by donation—while still gathering everyone’s contact information. This is DIY community building in action!
Event Insurance
Our insurance does not cover member's events, so each member is responsible for getting their own event insurance. If you're serving alcohol, you'll also need a special events permit. See FAQs for more information.
***If you do not get insurace we will have to cancel your booking. You are responsible for emailing us your insurance record.

How do I book?
- Sign our membership agreement (link above).
- Buy a monthly membership through the website link.
- You will receive an email entitled " Friends Quarters Enterprises" with your order, including a REF number in brackets (e.g., Ref S00095).
- The REF number is your membership number, which you’ll need for booking.
- The booking links for 111 and 222 will be in your order invoice email.
- Check your availability and preferred date, and book away!
- Send us proof of your renter’s insurance ASAP and any updates on your event.

FAQ's for Members
Being part of a DIY membership means you're in the driver’s seat when it comes to finding all the info you need! Since we’re all volunteers, it might take us up to 48 hours to get back to you, so feel free to nudge us if needed. We'll always do our best to reply as quickly as possible!
Our tip? Don’t wait until the last minute, especially if you're planning an event – we might not be to get back to you in time. And if we send you forms or documents, please sign and return them ASAP so we can keep things running smoothly!
A DIY (Do-It-Yourself) membership-driven community means that the members themselves are responsible for creating and managing much of the community's activities, structure, and content. Rather than having a central authority or leaders dictate what happens, the members take an active role in shaping the community. They might organize events, create resources, set the tone of discussions, and make decisions collaboratively. It's a more grassroots, self-organizing approach where members are empowered to lead and contribute, often resulting in a more engaged and personalized community experience.
YES! To keep this space accessible and affordable, every event host is responsible for bringing their own insurance with a minimum of $2 million in liability. If you do not get insurace you and your guests will not be covered and you will be personaly responsible for any accidents on site
We can recommend EventPolicy.ca (It will autofill out the additional FriendsQuarters parties that you need).
Duuo (https://duuo.ca/)is also a great option and at a lower cost. YOU MUST ADD the following four FQ parties below as ADDITONAL INSURERS
Use email : admin@friendsquarters.com
- Friends Quarters Enterprises Inc, 110-328 West Hastings Street, V6B 1K6, Email: admin@friendsquarters.com
- Pacific Reach, PR 328 Hastings Holdings Ltd., #1818-701 West Georgia Street, PO Box 10126,
- PR Hastings Limited Partnership, 1818-701 West Georgia Street, PO Box 10126,

If you have your own insurace coverage, you are resposible to call your insurance company and add the insured parties above
Insurance required: a minimum of $2 million in general liability
You can go to www.eventpolicy.ca and look up Friends Quarters to do so with minimal effort and little cost (generally about $50-$150 depending on the type of event)
The policy above must list the following four entities as “additionally insured” on the policy:
Friends Quarters Enterprises Inc, 110-328 West Hastings Street, V6B 1K6,
Pacific Reach, PR 328 Hastings Holdings Ltd., #1818-701 West Georgia Street, PO Box 10126,

Yes, but you will need to connect with FQ and ensure you follow their policy.
The policy for sering alcohol at an FQN event is:

* FQ will staff the event with a bartender and sell FQ alcohol
* If event sells a minimum of $300 of alcohol, you will get your $150 back.
* The alcohol sales covers the cost of paying the bartender.
* You need to get your own liquor license for the night which is about $50
* You need to get the correct Insurace that covers you to serve alcohol.
Yes, your membership will automatically be charged to your credit card on file every month.
To cancel your membership please email admin@friendsquarters at least 7 days before your renewal date each month.
No we don't have "roll overs". If you don't use your 2hr rental in any given month, you cannot then use that in another month.
Once you buy a monthly membership, you will receive an email titled Friends Quarters Enterprises Order with a REF number in brackets (e.g., REF (000096)). Your REF number is your membership number.
In order for this to be a success, we need you to actively participate in growing our member-driven community! As a host, if you’re holding a ticketed event, we ask that all participants should join as members for the day with a $5 drop-in fee or by signing up for a monthly membership. This ensures that you are helping spread the word and giving back to FQ to sustain this program financially.
It’s not compulsory, but we encourage a donation approach—everyone attending should be signed in with FQ. If folks come by a few times, we suggest that after the first few visits, they contribute with a donation. This is essentially a membership club that's super low-cost and accessible, so let’s all do our part to help it thrive, grow, and stay financially sustainable!
You can make a booking by signing the membership agreement, purchasing a monthly membership, and finding your membership number, which is the REF number in your order confirmation. The booking calendar links can be found in the terms and conditions of your order invoice
The booking links for event rooms 111 and 222 can be found in the terms and conditions of your FQN monthly subscription
The rental space 111 has a 60 person capacity. This is the OG FQ Event space and has great vibes.
You will need to purchase an additional seperate membership though our website system. You will need a name and email for this membership, however when you make a booking you can use your own name and their membership number so we know its you :)
If you’re only interested in renting the space without joining the community, we totally understand! However, the concept behind our affordable rates is that members actively contribute to the growth and vibrancy of our network. By participating, you’re helping build something unique—a collaborative, supportive space for everyone. For those who prefer a straightforward rental without the community involvement, we do have a regular rental fee option. This way, we can keep the heart of our mission strong and support those who want to be part of our shared journey.
When hosting an event, please post about it in our community Facebook group and actively let attendees know about our membership options. Encourage them to sign up or make a “member for a day” donation of $5 to support FQN’s growth. Remember, community thrives on collaboration—consider volunteering at others' events to build connections and strengthen our network together!
The rental space 222 has a 50 person capacity.
222 is our latest addition and is a terrific 1000 sq.ft. space on the 2nd floor. Note that this is the only space currently available for member's to book on the weekend.
You may use our bluetooth or AUX connecting speakers for your event.
We mean that when we release our calander you must be ready to book your prefered date as they will go quick!
Our booking calander allows you to make bookings up to 60 days in advance
On the first day of every month we will open a new month for members to book
You can cancel your booking up to 72 hours before an event and make a rebooking for that month. Anything within 72 hours is on refundable or non bookable.
At least 1000!! Start spreading the word!
Afraid so, friends. We will be given at least 90 days' notice, so use the space while you still can!
YES, we are still in development BETA stage so will need to go with the flow as we grow :)
Email us at members@friendsquarters.com and let us know - we will add you to our whats app group
Our membership model was born because, well, FQ sits empty more often than we’d like! Availability is based around our paid bookings, and as much as we’d love to throw the doors wide open all the time, we still have bills to pay.
Good news! Our event space 222 is available for FQN members in the evenings and on weekends.
Please join; it will be the central hub for our community to interact. Link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3633979360226339
Memberships are billed monthly, recurring on the same date as your sign-up. You can activate your membership at any time and begin using it the following month. We trust that members keep track of their subscription to ensure at least one month of use with no rollover of unused time.
